If you are an Indian consumer and are looking for low tariffs with unlimited data (applicable FUP) then we have a bad news for you. All the major telecom companies in India i.e, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea and Reliance Jio have decide to increase their existing prepaid plans by 15% up to 50%.
It seems the low tariff era has finally come to an end for Indian consumers.

Reliance Jio New & Updated Prepaid Plans
On October 2019, Reliance Jio announced that it will be recovering IUC (Interconnect Usage Charge) charges for non-Jio mobile voice calls post Oct-10 2019. According to Reliance Jio, this has been done due to the undergoing changes in regulatory policy for mobile call related charges.
Jio IUC – Free 1 GB Complimentary Data
According to the October press release, users will be charged at 6 paise/minute for every non-Jio mobile voice call.
To compensate this additional recharge, Jio will now offer free 1 GB complimentary data for every Rs.10 spent. Users can redeem this data through vouchers which are automatically credited in their accounts post successful recharge. Validity of this data depends on the current active plan.
Following are the new and updated all-in-one prepaid plans of Reliance Jio network.

Previously, Rs.149 plan had a validity of 28 days which has been reduced to 24 days now. For additional non-Jio voice calls, one can recharge with additional top-up plans.
Apart from these all-in-one prepaid plans, Reliance Jio also has plans that offers 1.5GB/day, 2GB/day, 3GB/day, 4GB/day, 5GB/day and long term packs. These packs comes with either 28 days, 70 days, 84 days, 90 days, 91 days, 180 days, 360 days or 365 days of validity.

Bharti Airtel New & Updated Prepaid Plans
Recently Airtel has also updated their existing prepaid plans. The updated pricing will take effect starting Dec-3 2019.
Unlike Reliance Jio, Airtel does not charge their consumers for IUC. On the other hand, Airtel has costlier plans compared to Reliance Jio.

Contrary to Airtel claims, unlimited plans are not entirely unlimited. Airtel to non-Airtel calls has FUP limits. For details on FUP limit corresponding to the unlimited plan, check with Airtel application. These limits are getting updated every now and then, hence I did not include them in this post.
Also, along with these plans, FRCs has also been updated. Now, minimum FRC is Rs.197 not Rs.178. Rs.248 FRC has been updated to Rs.297 and Rs.495 FRC has been updated to Rs.647.
Vodafone Idea New & Updated Prepaid Plans
In prepaid plan rates hiking competition, Vodafone Idea tops the list. Not only they hiked huge prices but also levied FUP on off-net (non Vodafone Idea calls) calls in unlimited plans just like Bharti Airtel.

Despite their poor coverage, Vodafone Idea has massively increased their prepaid tariffs. They first should provide good 4G coverage then ask for such huge amounts. Every time their 4G network automatically switches to 3G/2G in many parts of India. Consumers pays for 4G and in-return they get 3G/2G.
